Mill Spring has always known something the rest of the world is just starting to figure out. What you need is craft, community, and a willingness to show up — which is exactly what the businesses here do, week after week, season after season. They sold everything they had. Cleared 30 acres themselves. Built their dream piece by piece with their own hands (and their dog Dudley supervising, naturally). And on Labor Day 2025, they opened Wheat Creek Outpost — a mountain camp that proves what’s possible when you’re willing to get dirt under your fingernails.

This isn’t your college-era camping experience. Jessica and TJ have created upscale glamping that feels like the mountains decided to get fancy without losing their soul. Each tent comes with a full bathroom, kitchenette, king-size bed, AC, and heat — because enjoying nature shouldn’t mean suffering through it.
Two tents are open now, with a third coming soon. Year-round availability means you can experience Mill Spring in every season. And here’s the part I love: the communal spaces they’ve built. A camp lodge with specialty coffee (because priorities), books, games, a fire pit for evening conversations, and a hiking trail down to the creek where hammocks are waiting for you. They’ll even rent the whole camp for small events. Imagine your team retreat, family gathering, or intimate celebration happening here.
